Beautiful Owls

If you read regularly then you will know that I am a fan of Fabric Inspirations – a brill UK-based fabric shop. I like their choice of fabrics (there always seems to be good new stuff coming through into stock) and their customer service is just excellent (I recently had an extremely rapid replacement of a parcel fabrics that went missing in the post, no questions asked). Another huge bonus is their £1.95 flat delivery charge for orders up to £20 – the only drawback for me is that they don’t do smaller cuts than 1/2 metre, but even then they do have some gorgeous Fat Quarter bundles.

So recently when Aneta from Fabric Inspirations asked me if I’d like to give away some fabrics on Very Berry, I was really happy to say yes and give them a huge recommendation.

So here are the fabrics – aren’t they gorgeous? These gorgeous owls were designed for Annika Wester for Kokka of Japan and the fabric is a lovely textured cotton (85%) linen (15%) mix – it’s a sort of lightweight canvas feel.

You can see some cute pics of the fabrics in use over on Annika Wester’s blog – they look fab as bags and pouches, and I think would make great cushions or fun table mats too.

Aneta sent me a fabulous bundle of 1/2 metre of each of these fun fabrics, plus a lovely co-ordinating solid (so that’s 2m in total!), so there’s plenty for you to work with.

All you need to do to win is leave me a comment saying anything you like! No theme this time… my brain is too tired to think of one..!  You don’t have to do *anything* else (it’s the summer holidays after all…), but I’m sure Aneta would be delighted if you checked out Fabric Inspirations and followed them on Facebook if that’s your thing. The giveaway is open to all and I will do the draw and announce the winner a week today, on Monday 13 August.  Good luck!

By the way, Fabric Inspirations are on their summer break until 14 August, but any orders placed between now and then will get free UK delivery, so it’s well worth doing a bit of shopping and saving yourself £2.

Right… back to the sport!

A giveaway with Stitch Me Lane

I have a fabulous giveaway for you today – courtesy of Jennifer, the founder of Stitch Me Lane Fabrics.

Stitch Me Lane Loo

Jennifer is offering the readers of Very Berry the chance to win this wonderful Fat Quarter bundle of Lecien fabrics, which only arrived in her shop over the last couple of days, so we are very lucky!

These beautiful prints are from the Lecien Old and New 1930’s collection and are 100% cotton. I love these sweet shabby chic style fabrics – they’re so colourful and pretty, and Lecien fabric is such great quality. In addition, the winner will receive 2 metres of this cute spotty bias binding which will go so well with the gorgeous Lecien.

I told you it was a fab prize!

Jennifer is originally from Knoxville, Tennessee in the USA, and has been living in Britain with her English husband for the past 6 years. When she first arrived here, she found it difficult to source the prints she wanted, but she didn’t let that stand in her way and decided to open her own shop offering the unusual prints that she wanted. She started selling on Folksy 2 years  ago, and has recently opened a shop on Ebay.

As if that wasn’t enough, she is now launching her own website, which is already looking fantastic. She sells lots of funky fabrics (including these great value little scrap packs), and there’s also a really useful range of haberdashery and notions too, including eco-wadding for quilters. It’s definitely worth checking out. Jennifer also teaches workshops and would love to open a bricks and mortar shop, where she lives, in north-west England. Let’s wish her lots of luck with that!

There’s a Stitch Me Lane blog, a Facebook page, and you can follow Jennifer on Twitter too – so there is plenty of ways to keep up with the store.

The Giveaway Rules

The giveaway is open to all, but overseas entrants will be responsible for paying their own postage costs.

Here are the ways you can be in with a chance of winning:

  • Leave a comment on this blog post telling us what you might make with these beautiful fabrics.
  • Follow Stitch Me Lane on Facebook and LEAVE ANOTHER COMMENT HERE to say that you are a follower.
  • Tweet about this giveaway and LEAVE ANOTHER COMMENT HERE to tell us that you’ve tweeted.
  • Blog about this giveaway and LEAVE ANOTHER COMMENT HERE to tell us that  you have (and leave a link if you like).

Good luck everyone!

The Rules

There will be 2 draws: The Bloggers’ Draw and The Main Draw.

The Bloggers’ Draw will be made first and the winner will get first choice of all the prizes.

To enter the Bloggers’ Draw, write a blog post (as short or as long as you like!) on the theme of Resolved to Sew 2012, mentioning the giveaway and then leave a comment on this post to tell us about it (with a link please) and let us know which prize you would like.

EVERYONE will be entered in the Main Draw, including ALL the Bloggers’ entries (so it’s possible that the Bloggers’ Draw winner could win in the main draw too). All you need to do is leave a comment to tell me about your sewing resolutions in 2012. If you want, you can tell me which prizes you like best (although obviously there are no guarantees).

The Main Draw will be drawn after the Bloggers’ Draw, and I’ll just assign the prizes randomly (unless you have specified something and it hasn’t gone to someone else), until there are none left.

If you are a ‘no reply’ or ‘anonymous’ comment-leaver then I’m afraid your entry will not be included in the draw – it’s just too difficult to track down winners when I don’t have an email address. If you want to be absolutely certain you could always include your email address in your comment.

The giveaway is open to anyone, anywhere.

The giveaway will close at midnight on Thursday 26th January (UK time) and the winner will be announced on Saturday 28th January (at the latest).

This giveaway is now over!
