Speculaas – spicy Dutch cookies

Very easy to make, melt-in-the-mouth biscuits. Great to make with kids, as the dough is really great for making cut-out cookies, or for decorating in lots of fun ways.

Lemon and apple curd

If properly sealed will keep for up to 3 months. Once the seal is broken (or if not sealed) will keep for 2-3 weeks in the fridge.

Orange and almond mince pies

You can make these in advance and freeze unbaked or baked.

Suet-free cider-baked mincemeat

Keeps for up to a year if sealed properly.

Last minute Christmas cake

The clue is in the name! You can make this on Christmas Eve if you like. It makes a fantastic gift for cake-loving friends.

Sweet Tomato Chutney

This chutney needs a month to mature, and will keep for up to a year.

Preserved Lemons

Make up to a month in advance to be ready for Christmas gifting.

Quick makes from the craft room

Simple storage basket

A fairly straight-forward make, easily made in 2-4 hours depending on your sewing experience.

Quilt quilted pot-holder

Another easy-ish make, to complete in a couple of hours or so.

Hidden magnet fabric book mark

A very simple project – depending on your sewing experience, you could easily make a few of these in an afternoon.

Simple squares patchwork cushion

My easiest cushion pattern – a beginner would be able to make one of these over a weekend.

Scrappy sweetheart brooch

A lovely hand sewing project, to relax with over an evening. Makes a great stocking filler.

Frothy flower crochet brooch

Made with my crochet pattern, plus my tutorial for adding a brooch back to a crochet flower.
