Doing a daily project like #The100DayProject (currently happening on Instagram) is that you realise how quickly the weeks rush away. It is the end of week 4 already and I have made 28 (actually 29, I just posted today’s) curated colour selections for my #100DaysofCuratedColour project. I am resisting the temptation to look up what the last day is!
There is an odd-palette-out this week -. On Saturday I heard a very sad and depressing story – friends of mine lives in a village which celebrates a festival at this time of year, and lots of the residents put flags out to celebrate. Two years ago, in response to the shootings at the Pulse nightclub, my friends put up a rainbow flag.. very sadly it was pulled down by some unpleasant human(s). This year the rainbow flag has gone up again, and been torn down again. As a very quick *first* response (there will be more..!), I made them a Rainbow Palette to cheer up their Facebook page. As my friend Rachel says, love always wins.
25/100: The Rainbow Palette for my friends
The favourite on Instagram by likes was 24/100, although 26/100 came an extremely close second (just 2 likes in it). Removing the Rainbow Palette from the equation, because that is obviously my favourite, my personal choice would be 27/100 – I love it – I feel I got the balance just right and that combination of olive shades with a pop of orange reminds me very much of my godmother’s home. I really enjoy the way that the palettes evoke memories and atmospheres for people, that’s one of the rewarding aspects of this project, and of sewing in general, of course. I notice that the really bright palettes are less popular – 23/100 didn’t get much love! It would be hard to work with I admit!
Which one do you like? If you want to see all of them so far, I am gradually putting them on my 100Days0fCuratedColour Board on Pinterest.
