Giveaway week day 5: Black Sheep Wools

Big giveaway week image

It’s so rewarding to work with Black Sheep Wools because they love everything I love! Yarn, knitting, crochet, weaving, needlework, embroidery and over the last couple of years, patchwork and quilting supplies too. They’ve won plenty of awards – and I’m really not surprised because their amazing selection of stock and their customer service is just so excellent. Even though they are a big shop, with a big website to match, they keep that brilliant personal touch. Whenever I go for a visit, I am bowled over by how knowledgeable and enthusiastic the staff are.

When it comes to yarn, they always seem to have their finger on the pulse (probably down to over 30 years of experience!), and are on board with all the trends before we’ve even noticed them. At the minute I am loving all the yarn cakes they have in stock.

On the fabric side of things, they stock Amy Butler, Dena Designs, Tula Pink, Nel Whatmore, and of course, lots of lovely Kaffe Fasssett.

Speaking of Kaffe Fassett brings me to the giveaway.

The Giveaway

Black Sheep Wools have very kindly offered two beautiful prizes – and we can take a well-earned break from crafting, because we have two lovely make-up bags in practical laminated cotton.

Kaffe large make up bag
A large Kaffe Fassett make up bag, with wide-open zip featuring gorgeous Kaffe fabric designs. Would also make a great project bag!
Kaffe small make up bag
A small Kaffe Fassett make up bag featuring a colourful (of course!) Kaffe tapestry design.

So there will be two winners! Hurrah!

  • To be in with a chance of winning this fabulous prize, just leave a comment on this blog post – you are free to just say ‘pick me’, but, as this prize is all about colour – why not tell me your favourite colour and why.
  • Entries are welcome from readers around the world.
  • I will do the draw on Sunday 2nd April in the evening, so any entry made before then will be included in the draw.
  • To get extra chances of winning, please sign up to follow Black Sheep Wools on Facebook, on Instagram or on Twitter, and sign up to the Black Sheep Wools newsletter (link at bottom of the home page), but you need to leave extra (one per follow) comments to let me know you’ve done so!

  1. I love colour, my current favourite is a bright light grass green, although I’m partial to pinks and purples and that sky\cornflower blue. I bought a Kaffe Fassett knitting book years ago even though I don’t knit as I find his use of colour so inspirational and it had beautiful photos by Steve Lovi. The Kaffe Fassett fabric ranges are lovely because of the colours as are those cute bags.

  2. Hi, wow I love the multi coloured squares make up bag. I love bright colours because they always cheer you up even if it’s dull and grey outside 😍🌈😍

  3. Love the tapestry bag, with the mix of bright colours. I go for more nature type colours, blues and greens and purples normally. Following black sheep on Facebook and have signed up for their newsletter. Kate ✂

  4. I love the Kaffe Fassett make up bags in that flowery material — whst a fabulous giveaway!! The Black Sheep Wools colors are gorgeous!!

  5. Celebrate color! Who can choose? In light, all color is white, in pigment, it is near black…

  6. What beautiful bags these are! I especially like the smaller one, on first glance I thought it was crochet granny squares. It would be perfect for storing my rather large collection of hooks. Thanks for another fantastic giveaway opportunity x

  7. Gorgeous bags. I was lucky enough to visit a quilt exhibition by Kaffe a few years ago, amazing quilts, the colours used were wonderfull. Good luck everyone.

  8. Fab prizes love them both, my fav colour is currently purple but as I have a house full of yarn I love all colours especially the one I’m currently working on until I decide I have to make it again in another nice bright yarn

  9. Beautiful bags. There are lots of colours I love, but if I had to choose just one it would be green. The bright, fresh green of beech leaves in the Spring. It is all at once calming and energising and full of hope.

  10. These bags are fabulous!!! My favourite colour would have to be blue and I like it from the dreamy Aqua range to the deep mysterious midnight range.

  11. Love these bags, especially the floral one! My favourite colour at the moment is deep and rich purple – so opulent and special!

I also follow Black Sheep Wools on Facebook, Instagram and sign up to their newsletter! (One of my local yarn shops being down the road in Manchester!)

  12. My favourite colour is yellow. It makes me feel happy, maybe because it is bright? Maybe because the sun is yellow? I like the colourful designs from Kaffe Fassett, I visit his exhibition in Aberdeen all about colours, loved it, so please give one of this beautiful bags to me 😀

  13. They are both beautiful but the floral one!!! Lush!!! My fav colour is a greeny bluey aqua or a soft sage green. I’m a little obsessed and have 4 rooms in the house in those colour schemes 🙂

  14. Starting to use Twitter more (but not as much as US presidential requirements) and now following Black Sheep Wools

  15. Oh wow! Yet another super, duper giveaway. Would love to visit Black Sheep Wools and hope that I get to one day. AND……..a Kaffe giveaway. I first encountered Kaffe’s work over 30 years ago. When I eventually stumbled upon quilting I could hardly believe my luck that he had ventured into fabrics. I have also had the pleasure of attending one of his talks and workshops. What a privilege. My favourite colour? Goes way back to when I was 3………RED. Colour of joy and happiness, of earth, of blood, the fundamental root of our existence. A vibrant colour that never stops giving. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  16. I’ve loved Kaffe Fassett ever since watching my mum knitting his glorious patterns as a child. My favourite colour is green, all shades, but especially the dappled green of sunlight filtering through a woodland canopy b
