Make up bags in Mollie Makes

I’m delighted to find myself in the current issue of Mollie Makes – which is full of all sorts of goodies – you can browse a sampler of the edition just here.

Aren’t those wrist warmers gorgeous? They are by Amy Philip who you can follow on Instagram at @buttonandblue – if I could knit (properly) they would be right up there on my To Do list. I’m also blown away by the fabulous neon crochet cushion by Miki Hemphill – much more achievable for me, and a tempting Christmas holiday project:

Miki is on Instagram, if you want to see more of her lovely work.

The folks at MM asked me to use fabrics from the Observer range by April Rhodes from Art Gallery Fabrics for my toiletry and make up bag set. It was lovely to be introduced to this really excellent collection :

It was a challenge to work with large prints on these pouches, but I absolutely came to love the way that, with careful placement, you can use big graphics to make a great impact on small pieces. Definitely something to take forward to my future designs. Hope you like them too!

I adore the colour palette of this very sophisticated collection by April Rhodes, with prints that are influenced by urban environments and the natural world. There is a super-inspiring look book if you are interested in working with this range.

I want to give a huge shout out to M is for Make for help in sourcing these fabrics when time was of the essence – Kate went above and beyond – brill customer service as ever from her.

  1. Lovely set of bags Ali, and the fabrics work so well with the design. As we would expect, they are beautifully made with great attention to detail and finish. I was so thrilled to see your work featured in MM when I received my subscriber copy, well done x
