Tilda autumn collection blog hop and giveaway

Tilda Autumn ranges bloghop

It’s such a pleasure to work with gorgeous fabrics from Tilda – I always enjoy the soft colours and chintzy florals which are so charming, and the quality of the fabric itself is excellent, and a joy to work with. Very happily, the fab folks at Stitch Craft Create have sent me some delicious fat quarters from the Tilda autumn fabric collections, Cabbage Rose and Memory Lane, as part of a fab Tilda blog hop that’s been happening for a few days now – do check out the other blog posts in the series, there are some GORGEOUS makes:

Here’s my finished make for the blog hop:

Daisy applique cushion with Tilda fabrics

I particularly like these two collections, especially the stronger navy blue shades and the notes of zingy orange in the fabrics I received.  I also adore the cute rabbits, of course! I’ve had such a busy time recently plus a problem with pain in my neck (don’t say it!), that I can’t quite remember how I came up with this plan for making a larger version of one of the appliqué daisies from Jen Kingwell’s book Quilt Lovely – everything is a bit of a blur! I think mostly it was because I wanted to do some hand sewing – with lots of TV sport to watch … AND I wanted to fussy cut these sweet leaping bunnies.

Somewhere along the line I got my measurements a bit wonky so had to put pleats in red petals to make the daisy sit flat! But I love the depth this gives to the appliqué and it looks great on the cushion, so I was really pleased to run with it.

If you fancy having a first go at quilting you can buy a kit of these gorgeous fabrics to make the Easy Peasy Quilt I designed for Stitch Craft Create – I am so pleased with how it looks made up with the Tilda fabrics:

So there’s a big prize up for grabs – a whole set of fat quarters from the collections and a Tilda pre-sewn doll over on the Stitch Craft Create on Facebook:

This is the main prize over on Facebook at Stitch Craft Create – click on the picture to go and enter!

But I’m also giving away a couple of scrap packs (nice large scraps!) myself,  with the remnants from the fabric I was sent. Here’s are the fabrics you will get from me if you want to try your luck:

  1. Tilda has done it again………..yum. I would make something for my little grand daughter Cody, a cushion or pouch perhaps

  2. Oh, how lovely that cushion is! I thought the pleats were a design decision (maybe on some unconscious creative level) and they are perfect! I would make a new pincushion & thread bag combo with such a lovely collection. Thank you for the generous giveaway!

  3. What a generous give-away! Love the pillow you made. I’d use the fabrics to line the ears and feet of my hand-knitted rabbit soft toys. I think these gorgeous fabrics in such subtle colours would really be the ‘finishing touch’.

  4. Such a lovely pillow! I am a lover of anything with flowers. With those Tilda scraps, I would make a pretty patchwork table runner for my hutch. count me in !

  5. Love Love LOOOOOVE your Pillow!!! The red is perfect with the lil pleat!! Was ‘sposed to be… 🙂 Love the fabrics too! Would make Pillow Covers for sure, and maybe a pouch to keep things gathered in my Take-a-long projects bag!

Thank you for chance to win your give-a-way too! 😀

  6. I would love to make your pillow, or something like it. As I came upon it, I thought how nice it looks with the little pleat in the red petals. Then I moved along and noticed it was done of necessity instead of on purpose! I love it!
Thanks for the opportunity to win.

  13. Hello!
Your pillow is lovely! I think the pleats add the perfect bit of depth and texture. If I win the Tilda fabrics, I think I’d like to try my hand at making hexies & turn those into a purse!

  14. Oh my goodness, your ‘mistake’ led into the the best design element! I’ve always heard that mistakes were just a license for creativity and your petals with the little tuck are wonderful and look as though it’s what you had intended. 🙂 Of course, I love the fabrics you used from Tilda – they are gorgeous.

  15. If I were lucky enough to win these lovely scraps I would use them to make some Splendid Sampler blocks – as the blocks are 6 inches in size, with lots of intricate patchwork and applique, scraps are perfect and help make the blocks a real rainbow whirl of colour! (Especially if you’re like me, with a dodgy sense of what colour goes with what!)

  16. I love the pleats in your petals. A happy accident there! I’ve been enjoying making little bags and pouches lately so i would use the scraps on that.

  27. Love the fabrics, I would use the scraps to sew pretty panels into my crochet animals, tummirs and inside ears to give them more character

  28. Beautiful fabric and I love how your cushion turned out. I would use the fabric to make a thread catcher (I desperately need one of these but keep putting it off!). If there was any fabric leftover then a pin cushion and needle case are next on my list.

  29. I love Tilda fabric and your pillow is great. I would make some pouches or the ipad cover I keep promising to make.

  30. That is so gorgeous! Love the colour combination. Love the fabrics too. There are many things can make from the fabric. I would love to make pin cushions or throw pillow patchwork from it. 😘
