Liberty lawn giveaway from my newest sponsor – Duck Egg Threads

Now that I am not selling Liberty lawn fabrics any more, I am so happy to be able to promote my rival (although to be honest, I never reached the same level of excellence!), Duck Egg Threads, as my new blog sponsor.

Run by Sarah, who lives up in West Yorkshire, Duck Egg Threads is a specialist online fabric shop selling wide range of Liberty Tana Lawn prints (both the classics and the seasonal releases).

Tailored to quilters and crafters, who often do not need to buy larger pieces of a premium fabric when only a little is needed, their Liberty Tana Lawn is mainly sold in the very useable size of fat eighths (33cm x 50cm), but you can also buy in fat sixteenths too (33cm x 25cm).

Capel bundle
My favourite Liberty print of all (at least today anyway) Capel, in a gorgeous variety of colours. Sarah sells a gorgeous bundle of these!

Something I always wanted to do, but never quite got round to, was to stock a range of solid coloured cottons that worked with the Tana Lawn. Sarah has that all sorted, stocking the Pure Elements line of solids from Art Gallery Fabrics – as you can see, Duck Egg Threads has lots of colours in stock, with lots more to come in the near future:

Of course, this means that Sarah has the opportunity to put together some bundles of Liberty prints and coordinating solids. Love this classic grey and mustard combination – Sarah says one of her big influences is Orla Kiely and I can see that in these colour choices:

A big draw for me is the We Love Liberty Monthly Club, where you get a lovely bundle of fabric through your letterbox each month.. Sadly the subscription club is closed at the moment, but you could always sign up to go on the waiting list via the Contact Form.

Really usefully, there’s also a range of notions that’s small, but absolutely perfectly formed if you are interested in hand sewing and/or English Paper piecing – and who isn’t when you are sewing with Liberty lawn? So there are Aurifil threads in all the right colours (shades of grey and cream of course!), Black Gold needles, Clover clips, quilting pins, and my favourite Sewline glue pen, amongst other goodies.

You can follow Duck Egg Threads on Instagram, and on Twitter and Pinterest too, so that you can keep up with new products and fabrics coming into stock.

To celebrate the this auspicious event… Sarah has very kindly put together an AWESOME bundle for me to give away to one lucky reader.

The prize is:

  • We Love Liberty Monthly Club July Bundle (8  Fat Sixteenths of gorgous Liberty prints)
  • FQ Pure Elements Cherry Lipgloss
  • FQ Pure Elements Dark Citron
  • FQ Pure Elements Tigerlily
  • FQ Pure Elements Empire Yellow
  • Sewline Glue Pen (with 1 refill only)
  • Clover Black Gold Needles Appliqué/Sharps No. 9,10,12 mixed pack

Fantastic or what?!

To be in with a chance of winning simply subscribe to the Duck Egg Threads Shop Update newsletter (you’ll find the subscribe button in the top left corner of the shop home page), and then leave a comment on here to tell me that you’ve done so. And that’s it!

  20. Hi Ali

I have just subscribed to the newsletter and joined the waiting list for the monthly club. I was going to join a similar club based in Australia but happy to wait for a UK club – I am very excited as I have just discovered this amazing fabric just yesterday!

    1. Yes, sorry Marian – as you can imagine, the overseas postal costs for such a large bundle are quite high, and difficult for a fledgling business to absorb. Many apologies for the disappointment.

We always love reading your comments... go ahead, say hello!
