What I made in 2015 (well, some of it)

Wow it feels like I barely took a breath in 2015, and when I look back at what I made, I’m not surprised! Some of it I never even properly photographed because I had to whizz them straight off for magazine deadlines. So, very busy but hugely enjoyable, I learned loads and some of it I am really proud of. Here are some of my favourite projects:

2 hexagon quilts

These two mini-quilts were made for Instagram swaps – couldn’t be more pleased with how these turned out – hope you can see how much fun I had with them!

Misc other makes

These are all just projects I particularly enjoyed because they turned out so well or just because they were super-fun to make!  From top left, clockwise, an applique sampler for Love Patchwork and Quilting (which now has pride of place in our downstairs loo!), a gadget clutch made for a friend, a cute cushion using sweet fabric (literally!), made just for fun, a patchwork pouch made for Love Patchwork and Quilting, a denim bag made for Love Sewing (in an upcoming edition!), and a little needle book made as a swap extra.

Ochre and Ocre goodies

I had a great time developing projects for Ochre and Ocre this year. Sadly my work with O&O has come to an end (I’m just too busy!) but it was a really good creative stretch, and I can heartily recommend their lovely fabrics. You can find tutes for all these projects on the Ochre & Ocre blog.

Liberty projects 1

And finally, not surprisingly, lots of Liberty lawn. My little postcard-sized, vintage-style hexie project (easily my favourite project of the year), patchwork cushions for a tutorial here on my blog, and another gadget clutch for a friend (this time with piping!).

Onwards and upwards into 2016, with lots on my To Do list already! Hope you have lots of great crafting plans for 2016 too – do tell!

  1. Inspiring! I recently moved, and am still unpacking…. Near horrified as I open bin after bin of fabric… realizing I need to stop the big quilting projects and work on many many many smaller ones… this is a good reminder.. and your work is beautiful!

  2. Lots of gorgeous makes. I missed that second hexagon mini, it’s really gorgeous. And I have to say that your vintage Liberty hexie project defintiely stands out as the star of the year for me. It’s so beautiful. Looking forward to seeing what you have to share in 2016. Hope it’s a fabulous year for you.
