Meet my sponsors (and win a prize!): Dragonfly Fabrics

Dragonfly Fabrics - Designer Dressmaking FabricsI’m delighted to introduce the lovely people at Dragonfly Fabrics as the first ever sponsors of my blog – I am so pleased to have their support – it means such a lot to me and my work here at Very Berry. Dragonfly is owned and managed by husband and wife team, Simon & Dorte, and their aim is to provide beautiful dressmaking fabrics at affordable prices.

Their store is well known for its lovely range  and excellent customer service – you just have to look at their testimonials page to get an idea of how much they are appreciated. They have a lovely, well chosen selection of fabrics, which is no doubt the result of Dorte’s background in the fashion business and teaching sewing classes – she really knows what works when it comes to selecting fabric for clothes – and the good news that she is happy to help with advice about fabric choices.

For the winter season they have a gorgeous selection of boiled wools:

To help you get started with sewing wool, Dorte has written this really helpful blog post to take your jitters away – and there’s a short accompanying video to watch.

I’m also a huge fan of these beautiful velveteens and they also have lots of options for a fabric that I know is really popular at the moment – Ponte Roma jersey.

If you want to get a feel (and to check colours of course) of any fabrics in the shop you can get up to 5 generously sized samples for just £2.50.

I am always a fan of a one-stop shop, where I can get all the bits and bobs I need for a single project – and Dragonfly fits the bill there with an excellent selection of haberdashery, interfacings, zips and dress linings. The only thing that is missing here is buttons! Most importantly, they have a brilliant range of patterns from indie designers such as Grainline Studio, Tilly and the Buttons, Colette Patterns, Sew Over It, By Hand London, Oliver & S, Named Patterns and many many more. So there’s everything you need for your next dressmaking project!
