I seem to be having a blue-themed week… This morning, much to my surprise, the postie delivered a little parcel containing this lovely oversize pouch:
It was made by Fran, who blogs at Patchy Rose. Fran recently won a Very Berry Facebook giveaway of free membership to my Liberty Charm Square Double Quilt Club, and made this bag for me as a thank you, which was totally unnecessary, but very much appreciated. It really is the cutest thing (I love that cat with the electric-shock fur, and the diamond quilting adds such lovely texture), and it is going to be so useful. Fran calls it her ‘Door Handle Bag’ because it is designed to hang neatly from a door handle, but I can see it being very useful in campsite washrooms were there is nowhere except a hook to keep your washbag safe from the shower. You can see more pics and read more on Fran’s blog.
On Monday, my friendly neighbourhood courier lady delivered this gorgeous vintage Meakin plate, in the Pacific design, for my ever expanding vintage china collection.
Being a Potteries girl (the story is that you can always spot someone from Stoke-on-Trent because they’ll be looking at the bottom of your plates to see where they’re from, and frown when they see ‘Made in China’ ;-)), I find a bit of vintage china almost impossible to resist. I got it from one of my favourite retro/vintage sellers – Vintage Pixie Treasures (you can follow her on Facebook, and she has a shop on Etsy), who has a fantastic eye for all sorts of goodies. I really like the idea of going to car boot sales and scouring charity shops for awesome bargains for myself, but being pressed for time, I have decided to rely on others to do it for me. Meanwhile I am saving my pennies for the future purchase of a kitchen cabinet to display all these wonders… (although I might need a bigger kitchen first).
And finally, because a customer is very keen to make a blue Liberty Wallflower cushion, and I was a bit short of blue fabrics, this week I have had a bit of a restock on blue over at Very Berry Fabrics:
I will have blue Liberty lawn scrap packs and blue charm square packs available by the weekend I hope too. So, if you want some blues of your own, you know where to come!
