Offset Warehouse has just launched the Big Spring Contest, and guess what…? I’m one of the blogger judges!
As one of the judges, I’ve been asked to come up with a theme and judge all the entrants for that theme. I get to pick one lucky winner who will have three weeks to make their design and get the chance to win a whole goodie-bag of prizes!
The theme I have chosen for the competition is My Crafty Friend. Here’s the cute little logo that the folks at the Offset Warehouse have designed for me!
Regular readers will know that I have a thing about making stuff that is beautiful AND useful, so this seemed like the ideal theme for me. I want you lovely people to come up with a design idea for something that would make a fabulous AND practical gift for a crafty friend. Your friend’s craft can be anything – sewing, beading, knitting, baking, woodwork, painting, papercraft, the crafting world is your oyster! I’d also love to hear about why your friend deserves a gift (but only because I am nosy!). All you have to do is send in your design or pattern, along with details of the Offset Warehouse fabric you’d make it with, by Sunday 16th March. You can submit your design or pattern to me by email at veryberryhandmade (at) gmail (dot) com. Also, it would be great if you could leave a comment on this blog post with your initial ideas, so that I know to expect something from you.
To get started, have a browse on Offset Warehouse’s site and see what fabric inspires you! Or, if my theme doesn’t take your fancy, have a browse of the other themes on offer by the other three bloggers:
One winner will be chosen per theme and they will receive the fabrics they need to bring their design to fruition. Then an overall winner will be selected and they will be rewarded with a wonderful selection of prizes! Check them out:
These bambu Adjust-A-Bowls are the ultimate ‘hold everything’ bowl and Green Tulip are generously giving one of each – a hemp organic denim one and a cork one. Fold ’em down, or pop ’em up, use them to store your sewing bits and bobs, pop it in the kitchen for fruit, vegetables or bread, or why not in the bathroom for bottles? Hemp has eight times the tensile strength and four times the durability of other natural fibers, and is mildew resistant and anti-microbial. Cork is renewable and biodegradable, and cork forests are essential to preventing soil erosion, maintaining water resources and storing CO2.
This gorgeous leather trim buckle basket is handmade in Morocco with palm leaves. It is lightweight, strong and free standing, great for shopping, the beach, picnics, gym, nappy bag and much more! The leather handles are incredibly soft and long enough to go over your shoulder and tuck under your arm. With the added bonus of a leather strap and buckle to keep everything safe – it’ll be your new best friend!
