Stitching the years away..

The lovely folks at Coats (that’s the UK site – you can find the USA site here – Coats & Clark) have sent me a lovely gift set of cotton threads released to celebrate their amazing heritage. I had no idea that the company dates back as far as 1755…. I also had no idea, that in the UK anyway, the Coats brand includes all those (crafting) household names like Prym, Rowan, Patons, Anchor… I have been most ignorant! So it seems I have been a very good Coats customer for years, without even realising it! Here’s the sweet little set of threads they sent:

The gorgeous wooden spools make such good props for photography, it might be a while before I get round to actually using the thread:

Mend Make Do pouch

Hope you like the new pouch – it’s for sale over on my Facebook page if you like it a LOT! It’s a great size for storing lots of sewing stuff….

Thanks so much to Coats for providing me with a bit of education, as well as the lovely threads and pincushion. You can find Coats UK on Facebook, and on Twitter too

  1. such a sweet set (I have a soft spot for wooden spools) and I had no idea that those others were owned by them!! I love your sewing pouch, great fabric x

  2. i tried looking but couldnt find this little set for sale. do you know if it is or was this a promo?

  3. What a lovely collection. My mum has a huge tin full of threads on wooden spools and other vintage trims, buttons and sewing accessories. The pincushion is very pretty too. As usual, you have used them as perfect props to complement your sewing. Love the versatile pouch, another winner.
