My brother phoned me up earlier to remind me (thanks bro!) that exactly 25 years ago today we were at Wembley Stadium (the old one!) seeing U2 on the Joshua Tree tour. What were you doing 25 years ago I wonder? I find it amazing that I can remember 13 June 1987 so clearly (even down to what we had for our picnic lunch and the clothes I was wearing), but can barely remember what I had for dinner yesterday..
What the 17 year old me (oops, given my age away..) would have made of what I’ve been up to today, I have no idea. ‘Making wallets – really? Why am I bothering to work so hard on these A-Levels then?’ would probably have been the reaction.
In fact, I am up to my eyes in wallets. I have four done/almost done, and 2 still to make.. Then I am taking a break from them for a while…! But I am feeling a minor sense of triumph today because I have finally finally finished tweaking my pattern for a small pocket-sized wallet.
I’ve managed to squeeze in three small credit card pockets and 2 large slip pockets:
and it all folds up into a 5″ (or thereabouts) square.
I LOVE this fabric collection (Miscellany by Julia Rothman for Cloud 9) – I know my 17 year old self, with my obsession with black, would definitely have approved.. I’m planning to put this one in my Folksy shop, which has been much neglected lately.
