Weekly fabric update..

News from out giveaway sponsors

One of our lovely giveaway sponsors, Eclectic Maker is now on Facebook…  they have promised to give away a bundle to a random Liker when they reach 200 followers – so pop round to FB straight away and get following – I’d really like to win ;-).  The winner of the Resolved to Sew Blogger giveaway chose the £40 voucher to spend at Fancy Moon. She is going to have lots of gorgeous stuff to choose from – check out the Fancy Moon newsletter (out today) for all the goodies now in stock. The Fabric with Love newsletter is also very much worth checking out because they have some very special offers just for newsletter readers!

Other news

Michael Miller - Put a lid on it electric from Frumble

One of my favourite shops – Frumble – has had a bit of a revamp and is looking rather spiffing – just check out that funky new logo for starters!  You can now buy fabrics by FQ, which is always a great bonus, and they have some lovely fabric bundles in stock. I also always really like a ‘What’s New’ section (it’s always good to check out new spending opportunities!), so am very glad to see one here. I know I am going to find it hard to avoid this cute fabric from Michael Miller called ‘Put a Lid on It Electric’. Frumble tell me that they are planning to buck the trend and have a February sale – I’ll try and let you know when it arrives… If you follow Frumble on Facebook you will know that they are expecting their biggest delivery of fabric ever tomorrow – including goodies from Timeless Treasures.. I’m looking forward to it!

If you need to buy wadding (and will all the quilting resolutions I’ve read about over the last couple of weeks, there’s a lot of you who need to!) then you might like to know that there is currently a 10% reduction on 3m lengths of wadding at Doughty’s.

Love Heart cross stitch kit from Ray StitchThere’s currently 20% of everything at the ever-fabulous Ray-Stitch (I think until Thursday, but don’t quote me) you need the code NEWYEAR12 at checkout. They have some gorgeous new fabrics in, including the lovely range by Naomi Ito for Nani Iro, a great new range of kids’ clothes sewing patterns from Denmark called Minikrea, and some very dinky little cross stitch kits just in time for Valentine’s Day.

You can also get 20% off on all home dec weight and linens at Seamstar – this offer ends on 31 Jan. If you’re ordering trimmings from Seamstar you can get 50% extra free if you enter 50%Free in the COMMENTS box (not the coupon code box) – this offer is just available until Monday 30th Jan. Also, did you know about the Seamstar Flickr group? If you submit an item made with Seamstar fabrics then you’ll be in with a chance of winning £100 worth of vouchers to spend at Seamstar – read more here for the details.

There are a few gorgeous fabrics in the Clothkits sale. If you are a Marimekko fan then you might appreciate the opportunity to get hold of their amazing Pieni Unikko II fabric at £26 per metre. They also have this very cool tape fabric for the same price.

Flower Sugar 5" Strip roll from The Quilt Room

I mentioned this on my Facebook page the other day because I always love it when shops think of news ways to make life a little bit easier for us fabric buyers. The Quilt Room are now selling of 5″ strip rolls. These rolls are the equivalent in size to a jelly roll/4 charm packs, but have got to be more versatile than both. I think they look great and look forward to seeing more of these.

Another shop with a cool way with bundles  is Celtic Fusion Fabrics. If I’m after a fabric hit, but haven’t got much money,  I’m always hugely tempted by their fabric smallies… a stack of gorgeous coordinating fabrics  – some for less than £6. If you’re still getting over the fact that you didn’t win the Summersault bundle in the giveaway, then you could always cheer yourself up with a Summersault smallie!

The Sewing Directory’s current giveaway is very much for aspiring craft business people. There’s a chance to win one of 5 sets of Alison McNicol’s books on setting up a craft business. If you’re interested in learning more, you can also check out the Craft Business Community’s Facebook page.

That’s it for another week – as ever, apologies if I have missed anything – I do *try* to keep up! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
