Weekly UK fabric update

I didn’t think there was too much to tell you all this week, but I’ve just had a quick look found Facebook and on Google Reader and there’s actually loads of new sale information.. so best get on with it!

Sales

Here’s the sale section at Celtic Fusion Fabrics – the sale started earlier in the week, but there’s still some lovely stuff left.

Over at Sew Me Happy there’s a packed sale and remnant section, and prices have also been reduced on all fabric packs.

There are various offers at Abakahn – including 10% off everything.

Fabric with Love’s Winter Sale is also now on – the sale will continue until the end of February, and will be updated regularly, so it’s worth checking back. It’s also worth signing up for the shop newsletter for additional offers.

The Cotton Patch’s sale is now properly underway, with lots of Kaffe Fassett, Philip Jacobs, Nel Whatmore and Amy Butler fabrics, and more, on offer.

The Fabric Rehab sale is also now on – there’s a really good range of fabrics at bargaintastic prices.

Giveaways and Competitions

The only ongoing giveaway that I’ve spotted is The Sewing Directory’s My Fabric House giveaway. The prizes are fantastic, so pop round and enter that one before 6pm on Tuesday.

If you are a designer sewist then you might be interested in the design competitions that are currently underway at the Crafteroo forum – the prizes are excellent so it’s definitely worth a go…

You can also nominate your favourite sewing blogger from anywhere in the world to win the brilliant prizes on offer from The Sewing Directory in conjunction with Backstitch. Thanks to people who have nominated me, it’s really appreciated. I think everyone who blogs loses confidence sometimes, so I will remember your kind words next time I am having a negative moment!

Resolutions 2012

Did you resolve to take up quilting / finish a quilt / start blogging in 2012? There’s loads of stuff out there to get involved with if you are a sewing blogger, or you need some hand-holding to get started. Here are some that I’ve spotted in my travels around the place.

Pam and Nicky Lintott are now selling downloadable Jelly Roll and Jelly Baby patterns in their Quilt Room shop. This is fantastic because the gratification is instant… if you have a Jelly Roll already in your stash you can get started straight away. Many of these are designed for beginners too  – like this one:

A great way to get started or stay motivated with patchwork is to take part in a Quilt-Along. Katy at Monkey Do is hosting a QAL to make the beautiful Swoon quilt.

If you are starting a new sewing blog then why not join in with The Small Blog meet over at Lily’s Quilts – this is a regular link party helping people with smaller blogs to meet lots of other bloggers – a fabulous idea.. and like Monkey Do, Lily’s Quilts is always worth a visit when you need a bit of inspiration.

Finally – next Monday 16th will see the start of our huge January Giveaway – Resolved to Sew in 2012. It is going to be MASSIVE – check back tomorrow for more details.. I am dying to tell you all about it.
