A new design..

ETA: I Feel like this blog post was written whilst London is burning… it doesn’t feel right somehow, but work and life have to go on – if I don’t do this now, I don’t get to spend as much time with my kids tomorrow… Thinking of our London friends and that fantastic city where we spent 6 pretty brilliant years.

Whilst putting together my Vintage Dishes knitting needle wrap, I started thinking about a smaller wrap for crochet hook storage.. Here are the results of my deliberations…

I’m pretty pleased with this as a first attempt – it needs a couple of tiny tiny tweeks, but if you like this one, it’s in my Folksy shop at an introductory price.

I’m also adding this small zippered pouch to my shop inventory this evening – I love this cute cat linen fabric:

Thought I’d mention that a couple of friends have giveaways on at the moment – over at Very Kerry Berry (no relation!) you can put your name down to win some much-hyped (but clearly very wonderful) Aurifil thread. Over at Pings and Needles, Sarah has a really amazing competition in conjunction with The Eternal Maker. Too complicated to go into here, but it’s certainly a challenge, and I DO love one of those!

  1. Ali, your stuff just gets better and better, that crochet roll looks amazing, as does your purse, I love your fabric combinations and am completely envious of your neatness!

  2. No lace isn’t that complicated at all. Time consuming and probably more costly on equipment though. I’ve actually just had all my lace stuff out from under the bed so I could photograph it all ready for some blog posts on the subject.

  3. Hope you’re friends are all okay – awful stuff on the news.
Just want to say your latest additions are absolutely gorgeous – fantabulous fabric for the purse. Can I be cheeky and ask a quick question – has there been a specific blog you have followed to learn how to insert your zippers so perfectly, or has it been a case of trial and error. I know you are v. busy but would love some guidance. Thanks Jane

      1. Thanks for that – you really are the “zip queen” in my opinion. I’ll pop over now and have a look.

    1. It’s a great giveaway Kerry 🙂 Crochet hooks are a terrible thing to store – so easy to lose sight of… Am always losing mine down the side of the sofa – can’t think of a good way to solve that problem… (other than sit on a stool to do my crochet!).

  4. I love your crochet roll … almost makes me want to try again with the old hooks! (I have serious tension issues LOL!)

And the cat linen pouch is also to die for – lovely stuff – thanks for the giveaway plug too! I think it’s a fun one !
