Fabric news

I think everything is slowing down a bit for the summer holidays, because I don’t have much to report this week….

Firstly, I wanted to say that I’ve been making a few orders for fabric & other bits and pieces lately, and I wanted to say how impressed I have been by the service from Hulu, Simply Solids, Sew and So, efabrics and M is for Make – all extremely trouble-free transactions, which were delivered within 2-3 days. A special mention goes to efabrics – I made the order at 11am one day, and the parcel arrived before 10am on the next – I was a bit shocked to see it!

Speaking of Hulu Craftstheir summer sale has just started... there’s not a huge amount of fabric on offer, but there are loads of lovely yarns and patterns if you knit or crochet.

There are also various Summer Sales ongoing – here are the ones that I’ve spotted:

Fabric Rehab

Simply Solids

Celtic Fusion Fabrics

Dots N Stripes

Fancy Moon

Saints and Pinners

The Fabric Loft has its usual Sunday Stash offer on this week – the lovely Milly in Pink & Cafe Mocha in Red fabrics are both on sale at just £8 per metre, reduced from £11.50.

I’m looking forward to the launch of the new Abakahn website next week – hopefully it will make it so much easier to search and find what you need. You can read all about it here on their website.  The Eternal Maker also has a new website on the way – again, I really hope it makes it easier to buy fabrics online from this wonderful shop.

As I haven’t a huge amount to share this week, I thought I’d revisit my Big List of UK Fabric Shops again, and check out some shops I haven’t mentioned in a while.  Have you ever shopped at the African Fabric Shop? I have been drooling over these wonderful Shwe Shwe fabrics for ages now – next time I have some money to spare I am definitely going to get some. There’s lots of lovely fabrics, and beads and buttons too – it’s all very tempting. This has got to be a far better way of supporting people in Africa than projects like Dress a Girl Around the World.

Don’t forget that there are 2 Very Berry offers still running.. You can get 10% off your order at Fancy Moon until 31 July, and 10 % off at The Felted Rainbow until August 10.

If you like Klona cottons and you need some beautiful solids for your stash, you’ll want to pop back tomorrow for a lovely giveaway that we’re doing thanks to the generosity of Alice at Backstitch.

Finally, don’t forget to sign up for the Very Berry Scrap Swap – you can read more about it just here.

Enjoy your Sunday evening, I’ll be back tomorrow with the Backstitch giveaway.
