New things..

I finished some folding card holders over the last couple of days… both of these are now in my Folksy shop.

But now I’ve put my sewing machine away for a couple of days to concentrate on making some crochet cuffs for a commission. I’ve also been working on handquilting my first ‘big’ (it’s not really that big!) quilt. It’s been quite hard to get back into doing the handquilting because I changed my mind about how I wanted to quilt it, so had to unpick a lot of stitching I’d already done. That’s an enthusiasm killer if ever there was one..

I’m going to join in with the Hexalong that’s going on over at Lily’s Quilts at the moment. A friend of mine is expecting a new baby so I’m thinking maybe a hexie receiving blanket would be rather good… not too big either!

Hexalong

I am definitely still at the research phase for this project – I love hexies and have been pinning them all over my Quilt Inspiration Board on Pinterest, looking through my books for ideas, and searching all over Flickr… great seeing lots of lovely work…  Hand sewing hexies is a great portable project for the summer, so pop round to Lily’s Quilts and sign up too.

I was thinking that it would be fun to have another Very Berry Scrap Swap sometime very soon – it would be great to have a some nice new-t0-me fabrics to make into hexies wouldn’t it…  What do you reckon?

  1. Cute card holders! I’m also in the research/planning phase of the hexalong – I’ve picked my hexagon style (diamonds) and my background fabric (scrappy WOW) but can’t decide on the fabrics for the diamonds…inspiration, where are you?!

  2. Those card-holders are fabulous. The fabric for the top one in particular is lovely.

I’d be up for another swap 🙂 I’ve had such lovely things from the previous ones, and have done more fabric-cutting of my own since then!

  3. Another scrap swap? Reminds me to let you know I have received my postally delayed swap from the Spring one! (It was worth waiting for!)
