Sunday Fabric News

Teatime from Makower at Quilter's ClothQuilter’s Cloth has a fantastic summer sale – there’s up to 50% off everything, including notions & wadding.  The fabrics on offer include Lecien, Riley Blake, Moda and lots more. There’s some excellent bargains to be had – I like this bundle of Makower fabrics called Teatime – 10 pretty FQs for £20!

Many Triangles Quilt Kit from Oakshott FabricsOakshott fabrics have a special Wimbledon (come on Andy!) themed promo going on. You can get 15% off orders over £40 until 8 July with the promotional code WIMBLEDON15.  It’s also worth checking out the Sale list in the bottom left corner of their home page for some special offers over the next couple of weeks. For example, at the minute, this lovely Many Triangles Quilt Kit is on offer at £20, reduced from £25. If you haven’t seen the wonderful shot cottons at Oakshott before, then I urge you to check them out!

Tiny Town at Quilt Me HappyThere’s some really great offers in the Clearance/Summer Specials section at Quilt Me Happy. There are deals on Moda Jelly Rolls and Charm Packs, including Just Wing It and Pom Pom De Paris. There’s also some pretty 30s style floral fabrics from Antique Treasures at just £2.75 per half metre. There are also some great new fabrics in, including this cute Tiny Town print at £4.50 per FQ. I’d urge you to sign up for the Quilt Me Happy newsletter – Tracey is very good at rewarding subscribers with lots of secret offers!

Kona solids at Simply SolidsCongratulations to Mandy who is celebrating the 1st birthday of her shop Simply Solids. She’s kindly giving us all a birthday treat and offering 15% off all orders over £15. The range of solids (not surprisingly!) is hard to beat, and Mandy has some pretty prints in stock too.

Momo, It's a Hoot, Trees in Malt, at SeamstarSeamstar has a Summer Sale on too, with up to 40% off on selected fabrics and haberdashery. There’s loads of gorgeous stuff discounted, included lots of lovely trims, and fabrics including It’s a Hoot from Momo.

Cotton lawn from The Quilt RoomI love Liberty Tana Lawn (who doesn’t!) but the £20 per metre price tag is a bit beyond me, so I was intrigued by the latest newsletter from The Quilt Room, advertising a range of cotton lawns in stock. I think they are very pretty indeed, and very much in the Liberty vein – but at £10.60 per metre, they’re a lot more affordable. There are a few fabrics in the online Liberty sale – but not much to write home about, unfortunately.

Botanical colour palette at M is for MakeBecause I’ve been thinking so much about how to put together colours and fabrics recently, I’m really delighted to see that, over at M is for Make, you can now browse fabrics via some gorgeous colour palettes that Kate, like me, inspired by the wonderful Pinterest, has put together. There are only a couple so far, but there are more promised. I think this is an incredibly useful tool for those of us who buy our fabric online & don’t have the opportunity to see how fabrics from different collections work together before we take the risk to buy – I would love to see more online fabric shops doing this.  M is for Make also has some scrummy new fabrics in, including this gorgeous collection called Anika by Jennifer Moore for Monaluna.

Sewing Room, Kokka, from Fancy MoonI feel slightly blown away by all the gorgeous new Kokka & Alexander Henry fabrics in at Fancy Moon – check out their New section to see all the loveliness – it’s really hard to say what I like the best, but this pretty Sewing Room print by Yugyoku for Kokka is particularly fabulous. As always with Fancy Moon, the emphasis is on bold, bright, bright and eclectic. And the good news is the Very Berry Fancy Mood Giveaway starts tomorrow, right here!
