More colour musings

I’ve been blogging and thinking a bit about colour recently (here and here), and a couple of lovely people have responded to my deliberations with some really helpful places to go to for inspiration.

Mary, from Mary Emmens Handmade told me about this brilliant series of articles, The Art of Choosing, written by Jeni of the In Color Order blog. The series includes The art of recognising colour,  Building a well-rounded stash, and Types of fabric, but there’s much much more, and I urge you to take a look.

Ruth of Quincy Lampshades recommended Design Seeds.  Jessica, who writes the blog, pulls out beautiful colour palettes from inspiring photos and images. You can search by colour – a really useful thing. Here’s an example of what Jessica does:

I’m wondering if anyone got round to having a go at my colour challenge? I’d love to see the results if you did.

  1. I really wanted to have a go at joining in with you but have since signed up for my first craft fair(!) so I’m not sure I’ll have the time for a wee while. I’ll certainly be putting more thought into choosing fabrics for making things based on your own colour challenge post. And hopefully at some point I’ll manage to do a post of my own 🙂
