Folksy Friday

This is a record for me – only 3 hours of Friday left, but I guess there’s still time for a Folksy Friday selection isn’t there? I’ve been booking our holiday this week so I have the seaside on my mind. We haven’t been to the sea since we moved back to North Staffordshire (3 years!). When we lived in Cambridge we took all our holidays on the Norfolk or Suffolk coast – I really miss that wonderful coastline. We’re going south-west to Devon this year – the first time EVER for me and the boys. I’m very excited about it and have been buying expensive new wind-proof tent pegs in preparation – hopefully this will ensure that we will have wonderful weather. Definitely worth the investment! I’d also like to buy some of this wonderful bunting to decorate our tent:

£15 from Deelicious Deesign

Although we camp, I like a few home comforts & we always take our stove top espresso pot – it’s essential! I think I would also be tempted to take my teapot (in spite of severe packing issues…) if I had this wonderful tea cosy:

£22.50 from Buzybee

This postcard set encapsulates a lot of what I love about the British seaside – deckchairs, sparkling waves, sweet shop colours, and, of course, huge ice-creams:

And these wonderful felted pebbles would make a wonderful reminder of seaside holiday walks along pebbly beaches:

Oh well, only a few weeks before we hit the beach!  If you’re away this weekend for the bank holiday, I hope you have a wonderful time…

  1. I’m luky to live in Cornwall and I love Cornish pebbles……….I’m always finding them along with seaglass in various coat pockets.

  2. That bunting is absolutely wonderful, definitely puts me in a holiday mood, and that’s going some since the weather here these last few weeks has been more autumnal than summery. We are holidaying in Cornwall this year so hopefully will get our fill of coastline too.
