Sunday Fabric News

Welcome to my weekly round up of news from UK online fabric shops. I’m always really happy to hear about sales, promos and giveaways that are UK based. I also love to hear about interesting new shops to investigate (of course!) – so do leave comments or get in touch by email if you want to make any suggestions or you’ve got any recommendations.

Stitched with Love - Giveaway at The Fabric Loft

Lizzet at The Fabric Loft has a lovely giveaway. The prize is a copy of the very sweet looking book by Mandy Shaw, called Stitch With Love, and you just have time to enter this one because the closing date is tomorrow.

Korbond Kit competition with The Sewing DirectoryThis week’s Sewing Directory competition is a chance to win a kit of sewing supplies from Korbond worth £80. You have until 6pm on the 17 May to enter this one.

Sales, promotions and new in…

Oasis backing fabric from Quilter's ClothBacking fabric..  hmmm, I don’t think I knew about the existence of backing fabric, it’s a revelation to me…  it’s extra wide so you can back larger quilts more easily. Over at Quilter’s Cloth (which is going from strength to strength and is well worth a look) they have 3 floral backing fabrics from Moda  (Oasis collection by Three Sisters) new in – they look really useful.

Scrap rolls from Saints and PinnersSaints and Pinners have a fun promotional offer just now – every order of £15 or more gets a free scrap roll included in their parcel – read more on their blog. I love this photo of their scrap rolls all piled up – I’d love to get one of those!

Farmdale at Fancy Moon Fancy Moon has an excellent sale on just now which includes a lot of gorgeous colourful prints, including some of my favourite Farmdale prints from Alexander Henry (see left). Fancy Moon specialises in funky, colourful retro prints (well that’s how it seems to me) and they have some fabulous stuff just in – I particularly like these endearingly sweet 50s themed Pleasantdale fabrics from Windham.

Ribbons by Wallace Sewell from Ray StitchNew in, and exclusive to Ray Stitch are these gorgeous bundles of silk and wool ribbon. They are the woven edges of fabric created by the textile designers Wallace Sewell – and they are highly desirable. I expect these will be snatched up in no time, so pop round and check them out.

Enjoy all your sewing!
