Sunday Fabric

A New Shop

Oasis Jelly Roll from Moda
Oasis Jelly Roll from Moda available at Quilt Me Happy

Professional quilter Tracey Pereira has opened a new online fabric and notions store called Quilt Me Happy. As is obvious from the name, the shop is very definitely aimed at quilters, and is well worth a visit. Tracey is stocking a mix of shabby chic and modern contemporary fabrics such as Kona Solids, Moda and Melly and Me. She sells yardage as well as jelly rolls, charm packs and layer cakes, with more fabrics arriving all the time. She also has wadding, notions, patterns and other sundries. Besides the lovely fabric there are lots of very useful things that have caught my eye – skip stitch blades (rotary blades that allow you to make a row of small regular holes in all kinds of textiles), crushed walnut shells (for pincushion stuffing) & Insul-Bright Insulated Batting (great for use in things like oven gloves, pot-holders & cafetiere cosies) – all very interesting…

To celebrate the opening Quilt Me Happy, Tracey is having a blog giveaway for 15 FQ’s of the Melly and Me Where the Wind Blows range too. You have until tomorrow (Monday 21 March) to enter the giveaway, so hurry up!  There’s also going to be a regular ‘Bolt of the Day’ daily special with savings of up to 50% per metre. The bolt is changed each day – details will be posted on the Quilt Me Happy Facebook page – so it’s well worth becoming a follower to take advantage of these deals. You can also sign up for the the Quilt Me Happy newsletter if would like to receive details of the daily special by email.

Giveaways, sales, and other lovely things…

  1. Yay!! Crushed Walnut shells – the holy grail of my pincushion hopes – I am popping over there now!! Watch this space!!

  2. Hi Ali
Have you seen in your travels any corduroy for upholstery? I want to make a giant beanbag.
Might have to buy that slip stitch blade to make some childrens sewing kits. Am hoping it might work with felt.

  3. Thanks for the mention of the insulated batting Ali. I’m hoping to make some insulated covers for our racks in the bakery so I’m going to look into that.
