Sunday Fabric

Just a very quick fabric news tonight, I’ll try and catch up a bit later in the week. There’s been so much gardening and sport to distract us this weekend, that I’m running late with everything today.

A New Shop – My Fabric House

Lovely trim from My Fabric House

As soon as I spotted My Fabric House, I knew that I had to add it to my Big List of UK Fabric Shops (not that it’s been added yet, but it’ll be there soon). The reasons? An attractive, well-designed interface, a really good choice of interesting, different, and very pocket-friendly, fabrics, some really fun haberdashery and trims, highlighted with really excellent photography. My Fabric House say “Our aim is to create a fuss-free, secure and delightful environment for you to shop for ‘sweet n chic’ haberdashery and fabrics at the comfort of your home”, and with the amount of work that’s been put into this site, they’re doing pretty well so far. Pop round and check out the lovely stuff that they have in stock – you can also sign up to follow them on Facebook.

A couple of competitons

The ever-wonderful Seamstar are having a very generous giveaway to win a yard of ribbon for every day of the year (a prize worth over £150 – wow!). Pop round to the Seamzine blog to find out more about the prize and how to enter – you have until April 15th.

Over the at the Sewing Directory, in conjunction with Sewing Machine World Online there’s a prize of 100 Schmetz needles and 20 bobbins. If you use needles at the rate that I do, and loathe filling bobbins as much as I do, then you’ll understand what an excellent prize this is! Entries need to be in by 15 March.

Fun things to do…

I love the Lily’s Quilts blog – always inspirational to read and good to look at. There’s even more reason to visit at the moment because Lynne is hosting a very fun looking Quilt Along. There’s also a special offer on buying fabrics for the project from Simply Solids, and even a chance to win the fabrics to make the quilt! I wish I had the time to join in, but I’m a bit wary of taking on another project just now….

Something I do have time for is a Scrap Swap at Sew Tara… I’ll be organising another one of my own next month, but can’t wait for that, so am going to join in this one whilst I’m waiting. Should be fun!
