Fabric on Sunday

I came back from my weekend away with lots of lovely fabric from my friend’s scrap box – I’m so pleased with my lovely finds – thank you Margaret!  By strange coincidence the new additions to my stash include some lovely Sanderson fabric – clearly she is nostalgic for our college days too…  I had such a great weekend, it was so lovely to talk about old times, look at photos and catch up with what’s going on with everyone these days…  we’ve been friends for over 20 years now, and we always seem to feel at home with each other straight away, no matter how long it is since we last saw each other.  We decided that none of us had changed much, except that we maybe look just a little bit older…!

It’s time for some fabric news.  I’ve had plenty of newletters from various shops this week, so there’s lots to tell you.

Seamstar Tonal Collection - Dusk

Seamstar Tonal Collection – Dusk

Seamstar are having their last sale of 2010. Click here to see their list of offers.  They have also added a new product line – Hand picked tonal bundles – a great idea.  Each bundle contains 10 Fat Quarters of fabrics from different collections that look great together – so the hard work of choosing fabrics for quilts and other big projects has been done for you.  All the bundles are between £25.50 and £27.50 and are extremely well chosen.  I particularly like the selection called Dusk pictured here.

There’s also still time to enter the Seamstar Fabric Giveaway over on the Seamzine Blog.  The prizes this month are some gorgeous fabrics by the highly talented Australian designer, Saffron Craig (here’s her lovely blog if you want to check out her designs – you should!).

Prints to Polkadots

Prints to Polkadots is building a real reputation for great offers on some very desirable fabrics.  They currently have more than 100 fabrics in their £1.50 or less category.   And we’re talking funky Michael Miller, Alexander Henry and Riley Blake stuff, not just any old dreary stuff.  If you are wanting inexpensive Christmas fabrics then this is a good place to look at the moment.

Ray Stitch

Ray Stitch is absolutely one of my favourite supplies shops of the moment. Ray must be doing something right because every time I go to have a look, I end up buying something from her! For a very limited time (I think until the 21st October) you can get 20% off any order at Ray Stitch by typing AUTUMN10 when you check out.  They currently have lots of gorgeous stuff to tempt you, including the new collection called Punctuation from American Jane (I mentioned really loving this one the other day..) and some very cool black and white fabrics.  There’s a lot more loveliness, for knitters and stitches too – but you should really check it out for yourself.

River Fabrics

And finally, just to remind you that Very Berry readers have a special offer from River Fabrics. You can get 10% off all orders over £15 using the discount code VB2010.  This offer is open until the end of 2010.

Well, that’s it for now, I have to go and supervise my boys’ teatime – I think it’s going to be a sticky one.   But there’s lots more goodies coming up this week, including our adventures with taking cuttings and some chutney making with windfall apples.  I’m also very excited that I’ll be guest-blogging on the brilliant UK Handmade blog this time next week.  I’ve got a very large, orange plan…

What are you getting up to this week?
