A new shop for the list – Elephant in My Handbag

Elephant in my Handbag logo

Elephant in My Handbag has got to take award for the most memorable shop name! If you haven’t encountered it before, it’s a newish fabric shop that’s grown since the beginning of 2012 on Ebay and Facebook, and has now launched as a standalone shop. They stock Tilda, Riley Blake, Lecien, EBOR and Benartex fabrics by the metre and FQ, and also have a nice selection of fabric bundles for patchwork – they are looking to extend their range to include Sevenberry, Michael Miller and more.

They also stock a great range of ribbons and trims – one of the best I have seen in a fabric shop. It’s a bit tricky to find out what the postage rates are (it’s calculated as you check out, and so varies depending on how much you are buying), but hopefully this means you are getting an optimum deal for delivery.

****Some good news! I was chatting with Stephanie, the owner of Elephant in my Handbag, and she has offered Very Berry readers 10% off until 31 August with the code Berry1, to be entered at checkout.****

There are loads of lovely new collections coming into the online fabric shops at the moment, it’s impossible for me to write about them all, but one of my favourites is Tula Pink’s Prince Charming, and this is MY blog and I like it best, I am giving it a particular mention! Some of the prints in this collection absolutely blow me away – I adore this pattern called Dandelion:

The collection is now appearing in shops around the place. The Cotton Patch has it in stock now, and if you are going to the Festival of Quilts, you need to head over their stand because Tula Pink will be on their stand signing copies of her new book, Quilts from the House of Tula Pink, over the Festival.

You cannot beat a spotty patchwork bundle in my book – I will be popping up the Ellie forthwith! PS thank you to everyone involved especially you Ali – my glue pen has arrived. Too distracted with the headmaster being on his holidays to experiment, but I will let you know how I get on in September!
